Remember To Laugh

Especially during the holidays, it is vitally important to keep your sense of humor. If you don't have a sense of humor, I strongly suggest you get one! Go to a laughter clinic if you have to!! When around family, sometimes things are said in a moment of jest or all-out thoughtlessness that can rub you the wrong way. Go ahead and feel your feelings but immediately let it go. We often get pigeon-holed in our childhood roles, but you can really only be insulted if you believe what is said. Know you're all grown up now and YOU decide what your life is, YOU decide how to feel about yourself, and YOU decide what is true about YOU. Yes, sometimes it hurts, especially when the comments are coming from someone you love with all your heart, but you have to ask yourself, “Is it true?” For the most part, these careless comments are not intended to hurt you, but for a laugh. Sometimes views are skewed from their own issues or childhood inadequacies so give them a break and know you are loved. Loved by many, but most importantly, loved by One.
If you need a special reminder to keep your sense of humor - find this journal and many others at my Cafe Press shop.
