You've given it your all, you've learned all the hard lessons, and for once, you've taken that knowledge and put it into use in your new relationship...and it still doesn't work out. What's the lesson here? Like the quote above, love is not a waste of time. Who knows what's going on in the other person's life? Don't spend time pondering, analyzing, and wondering where you went wrong when you've handed over your whole heart. It's very difficult to not take these instances personal, but like every encounter, it isn't personal. There are always many factors that you may never know and playing a guessing game IS a waste of time, but the love you felt and gave is not. Love is not about what you can get in return and it is not about hearing the words back, it's about a giving of oneself. If the love isn't returned, it hurts yes, but don't let that experience warp the most beautiful thing in the world, you guessed it, LOVE!
